Teaching Adult Learners – Massage Therapy Instructor (MTI) Course is a 30 hour adult teaching course designed for Licensed Massage Therapists (LMTs) preparing to take on the challenge of teaching as a profession and meets the prerequisite requirements set out by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) for licensure as a Massage Therapy Instructor.
In today’s fast-paced society, young adults are subject to enormous amounts of stimuli, whether it be through the internet, social media or entertainment mediums. This stimuli generates immediate “quick fix” responses and mental conditioning, effecting the manner in which this new adult learner processes information. This, in turn, provides ongoing challenges to the modern day educator if he/she is to survive in the classroom. The modern educator must possess dynamic teaching styles, diverse classroom management skills, information delivery methodologies and numerous multidimensional approaches to conflict resolution if they are to keep this new adult learner motivated and on track to competency and success within the competitive wellness industry.
This program is taught exclusively at Sterling Health Center Massage School by industry experts with years of both didactic and practicum experience in the Massage Therapy and wellness industries. There is a rapidly growing need for quality Massage Therapy Instructors as the societal demand for massage and Massage Therapists grow. We provide an exceptional educational foundation upon which to build your massage therapy teaching career!
PLEASE NOTE: This course does not include the application or fees for state licensure. After completion of this required 30 hour course, students must send in their own application, documentation/proof of course completion and payment to the Texas Department of State Health Services for MTI licensure.
