Assisting the “mom-to-be” in her journey safely and competently can be very rewarding for the massage therapist.
Client positioning and modifications to massage techniques used during a prenatal massage must be learned and practiced to keep a therapist’s body grounded and balanced while making the mom-to-be feel like she is on “cloud nine”! Emphasis is placed on the quickly changing anatomy and physiology of the body during pregnancy, understanding and signs of contraindication(s), myths, and making the massage therapy session more relaxing and wonderful for your client.
Supplies to bring: Sheets, lotion, 3 regular size pillows (or 1 regular size and 1 body pillow), paper and pen for notes.
